Bike Scouts is a social platform where people can make a difference as a global community by riding as local teams of volunteer bicycle messengers for disaster response and social good! Bike Scouts have a presence across the Philippines and in 12 other countries around the world! The Bike Scouts Project started as a simple idea of using bicycles to give victims of Typhoon Yolanda (2013) an alternative means of communication and access to critical emergency supplies. To support the effort, the Bike Scouts community was born and the Bike Scouts launched the only Volunteer Bicycle Messenger service for disaster response and social good – in the world. It’s not just about bicycles, though, it’s a community and a platform for everyone who wants to do extraordinary good in the world!
Bike Scouts is partnered with Goozam – “a mobile app that’s making a difference in first response,” UNOCHA, Decathlon, MovePH, Rapid Emergency Telecommunications Team, Zion Emergency and Disaster Response Unit, The Embassy of the Netherlands in the Philippines, The Embassy of Denmark – Manila, WeRobotics, Philippine Flying Labs, Liter of Light, Philippine Business for Social Progress, and we’ve worked with Filinvest Lifemalls, Standard Chartered Bank, among others.
